Located on 1855 Boxwood Rd. in Nanaimo, BC, the Minute Men Moving & Storage building is a contemporary purpose-built household moving & storage facility. Built from the ground-up, the facility spans just over 2-acres. The building has an open concept space with a 19,6000 sq. ft. indoor warehouse space for secure storage vaults and 20’ steel containers.
The climate-controlled warehouse uses high-quality HVAC systems and insulation to manage the temperature and air circulation year-round. By maintaining a consistent temperature, the warehouse provides an optimal environment that keeps household and business items safe and protected from extreme temperature changes, mould and mildew.
The warehouse is a large space with 30-ft ceilings, a sprinkler system, and energy-efficient LED lighting fixtures. It is secured and monitored 24/7 with alarmed entrances, motion sensors, and indoor & outdoor 4K cameras.
Minute Men Moving & Storage needed a functional and durable area to allow their fleet of moving trucks to load and unload goods safely and efficiently. To accommodate their needs, there is an 8-bay loading dock with an integrated 80’ government-approved platform scale rated up to 500,000 lbs. Drivers also have 24/7 access to a driver’s room fully equipped with shower and cooking facilities.
Upon entering the office, clients are welcomed to a reception desk backed by the company’s signature brand colours. To create a positive ambience for employees and customers alike, we contrast the brand’s bold blue with a calming pale oak that’s incorporated throughout the rest of the interior. The offices have superior soundproofing to keep out the busy sounds of the warehouse and ensure employees have a calming environment to focus and excel in.
There is a boardroom inside the office that serves as a professional training space for drivers. It is equipped with state-of-the-art green technology and video connections that take drivers through visual learning experiences.
